Running

I'm still recovering from my shoulder surgery which consisted of a bicep tendon tear that was moved to the humerus bone. Then they shaved the clavical and acromian. Reading about it was more technical and sounded gross. No wonder it still bothers me!

All those crashes caught up to me.

I started running again end of March so I'm not recording my training from then. Lets start here:

April 8th: Ran 4.1 miles for 41 minutes. :)
Don't remember details.

Date: 04/13/2009
Time Taken: 00:30:00
Total Distance: 3.42 mi.
Burned: 313 (kcal)
Pace: 08:48 (avg)

Date: 04/15/2009
Time Taken: 00:41:10
Total Distance: 4.81 mi.
Burned: 467 (kcal)
Pace: 08:34 (avg)

Unbelieveable!! I'm typically a 9:30 to 10 min mile runner. I am a big girl for running. (145+)
Bought these shoes -- Newtons -- and I swear by them so far. They have helped me improve my form and utilize my big legs. I'm not sure of what my HR was because I lost the watch. I think both runs it was higher than it should have been 160+. BUT I feel fine... usually I feel beat up.

Never enjoyed running. Now... I'm getting that runners high. Let's see how long this lasts...the reason for the blog.

  1. I love your blog! Post the link for your new shoes...would love to see them. Are you running outdoors only or a combo of outdoors and treadmill? And...uhhh... you're not a "big girl." :-)
