I said last week I'd start a food diary this week... maybe a little late in the week but I did.
The good news is I'm not eating horrifically like I thought, not great but not like a couch potato either. The bad news is I know what to cut out so I can lose a few pounds! (Cookies are the first on the list to go! Eating more protein is what needs to be added.)
I also think I'm getting micro tears in my heal again. This happened once before and the good news on that is I know what to do about it. (Get off the road and run the trails)
The bad news and the one I may cry about tonight is that the Orthopedic doctor's assistant -- man he is so good looking that it is hard not to get angry with him -- said I'm doing too much with the physical therapy or just more than the average joe. (Duh!) This coming from a guy who broke his finger playing soccer last week and wanted to be in the O.R. the next day.... then he said "shh, don't tell anyone but I played soccer last night" with a broken finger. We're all O.C.D!
He wouldn't give me a cordisone shot (maybe in June before my race ?? please!) but did get me a handful of Aleve.. "take two and call me.... "
Yeah, I wish.
I will continue to be sore. My trapezes muscles will continue to be extremely tight when I run over 7 miles. The strength in my arm is coming along soooooo slowly, according to me. More massage therapy or ultra sound. Less bicep/tricep.
You should see my arms. The last two years I worked so hard at getting the flab not to flab. Now the left is extremely flabby. Almost three months and the muscle is gone! It just isn't right.
I'm tempted to take the bike out tomorrow on the trails (good lord) and see how I feel. But before that I am running with someone I haven't seen before my operation. Looking forward to it. She hasn't run very much (but was a runner in college) so she may be slow .. which I need right now. Maybe skating might be better ??
