Sunny and Warm in Seattle!

It must be sunny out and warm if I'm not blogging. It hasn't rained in over 12 days AND the temps have been in the 70s. The last two or three days it has been in the 80s! Welcome Summer!! We skipped spring. No wonder Seattle area has one of the highest skin cancer rate -- when the sun is out, everyone is outside. My house is a mess but the driveway looks great! I've been power washing. My tan is awesome.

I have also been running and a little biking. Wish I could swim but the P.T. doesn't think it is a good idea. I managed to run 24 miles this past week and biked 57 miles. I also did a 10K on grass. What a fiasco that was.

Every year there is a sprint triathlon, of which I did last year. This year the organizers wanted to add more.. too much more. They added a Duathlon, 10K and 5K. All on the same course. The 10K you had to do the 5K 2 times - no brainer - except someone forgot about the 10K runners. With everyone running on this 5K course, people are cheering at the finish line, well the 10K people where suppose to be directed around the finish line. This didn't happen for about 15-20 of us. We ended up crossing the finish line, getting around people standing and then jumping over a fence and back onto the course. Once this happened, my race was over. Mentally.

The 10K was an afterthought and not much thought went into it. We don't even have results! I definitely didn't get my moneys worth on this ($45 plus USAT fee of $10). A comment was made that I would get my entry fee paid for next year. Next year?? Seriously? I'm going to do this? Maybe the triathlon but definitely not an afterthought event.

Unofficially, my time was 56 minutes. But due to issues, I have taken about 2 minutes off this time. (Stopping at the finish line, asking where do I go, course was longer then necessary, etc.) It should have been 52 minutes if I take my 5K time and doubled it.

Onward to the 1/2 Marathon! 3 weeks and 4 days to go.
