The first hour was fine and I think we were running 9:30 if not 9:00 min miles there for a while. At the turnaround we were definitely running 9min miles for 3 miles. We paid for it the last 3 miles. With about a mile to go we walked for 2 minutes -- oh what a mistake!! My Quads hated that but after starting again with a triathlon shuffle it worked itself out. Now I know not to stop that long.
Now the bad part. The first is that my shoulder hated me those last three miles. Second, I have Morton's Neuroma on my right foot. The Newtons definitely help with that but after awhile it gets to me and of course my form is all over the place. I think I run better on the pavement then dirt/gravel.
I'm so happy I got that over with! Now I know I can run the 13.1 miles!
And even sadder news... I have to have surgery on my shoulder again. I'll try to down load the picture but needless to say there is still a piece of bone that needs to come off the clavical. It is hanging on by scar tissue which is causing all sorts of pain. I'm hoping the cordisone shot will kick in and do its job. Check out the clavical bone sticking way up! That piece hanging off looks worse then it is but needs to get fixed. Maybe one of these days I'll be able to blow dry my hair and enjoy my TT bike.
Yikes! That xray brings back BAD memories of my shoulder eparation. I was fortunate that I didn't need surgery. I hope you get fixed up soon!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the 12 miles! AWESOME!
