Sprinting.....something I thought I wouldn't do!! I know that I can run a faster 10K if I tried, so I figured it was about time I picked up my pace when training. I know what to do when sprinting with inline speedskating or biking but running is new to me. This may be unconventional and un-knowledgeable way of sprinting, so I'm "experimenting".
I did about 10 minutes of short (10-20 seconds) of sprinting. At the end of 4.5 miles. One of my fastest times was 10.3 mph (5:49/pace)! During my 4.5 mile run I did a few fast paces holding for about 1 - 2 minutes. I felt fine afterward but didn't drink enough water. Doh!
Today's run was 6.5 miles and took an hour. I certainly felt yesterdays workout today. I just want to know why the rest of the country is going to be "cooler than normal" while the PNW is going to be "hotter than normal". The only time I enjoy the cool weather here is when I'm running.
Tomorrow for a change I will be biking then run about 20 minutes. My shoulder may not like it but my mind will.
It can be so much fun to just RUN FAST! Nice workout!
