I've been a slacker blogging because my kids have been home! When does school start??
After running the 1/2 marathon in nice sunny weather of 60 degrees and a few hills, I decided to do another 1/2 this weekend. I'm crazy.
Still cannot bike for a long period of time. I tried last week and it threw me into major pain.
Saturday's 1/2 Marathon is in Lake Chelan where the temperature at 830am will already be sunny and 65+ degrees. Beautiful weather to be sitting by the pool, not running. The course is out and back on hot pavement with no shade, all the while looking at Lake Chelan teasing us to jump in. It is a pretty boring run with very small hills and one major climb at the finish. On top of that, there are litterally no spectators besides the people at the water stations.
It will be a mental challenge and brutal because of the heat. My hubby and his brother are doing the 1/2 Ironman.
We used to be able to acclimate to the heat -- midwest weather and all -- but since living in the beautiful state of Washington there is no acclimating unless we had a home in Lake Chelan. (hmmm)
